Bio

Paul Byles is an economist and financial services consultant with over a decade in the area of public sector consulting and policy development. His experience includes development of regulatory policies and guidelines for the financial services sector as well as carrying out numerous economic impact assessments and policy analysis with a focus on financial services issues. He was the lead economist on a five year economic plan for the Cayman Islands Government in 2003.

Paul has worked for 12 years directly within the financial services industry primarily in the banking and trust areas. His experience includes banking, trust administration and more recently corporate services. He is currently the Managing Director of Focus Corporate Services & Consulting and serves as an external consultant to the Ministry of Finance, Tourism and Development for the Cayman Islands Government. He is currently completing a text book on offshore financial services which was commissioned by the financial services regulator of the British Virgin Islands.

He received his bachelors degree at Pace University in New York and masters degrees at the London School of Economics (LSE) and Birkbeck College in the UK.
